ABSTRACT

Purpose:

To describe the in vivo confocal microscopic findings of a 24 years old female patient with Schnyder's crystalline corneal dystrophy.

Method:

Case report.

Results:

The patient presented with bilateral visual impairment and formation of white spots in her eyes. After ophthalmological examination, Schnyder cystalline corneal dystrophy was diagnosed and in vivo confocal microscopy was performed. Accumulation of reflective material consistent with subepithelial crystalline deposits was observed in confocal microscopy.

Discussion:

In vivo confocal microscopy is a complimentary imaging technique to evaluate the morphological changes in Schnyder crystalline corneal dystrophy.
