ABSTRACT
Discussion:
Three-month therapy with LTFC and DTFC effectively reduces IOP in POAG patients during the daytime. LTFC provides better reduction in the diurnal variation.
Results:
Both treatments significantly reduced the IOP during the daytime at the 3rd month. The diurnal variation was significantly lower in the LTFC group (p<0.01).
Material and Method:
96 eyes of 48 patients followed with the diagnosis of PAOG were included in this prospective study. The patients were randomly divided into two groups: the first group (48 eyes) was treated with LTFC and the second group (48 eyes) was treated with DTFC. At the 3rd month of therapy, the IOP was measured every 2 hours between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.
Purpose
To compare the intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering effect and diurnal variation of Latanoprost/Timolol Maleate (LTFC) and Dorzolamide/Timolol Maleate(DTFC) fixed combinations in patients with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).
